What Real E-Commerce AI Looks Like
(Spoiler: It's Not What You Think) 🚀

I sat in on a sales call last week.
I wasn't selling. I was the new guy. Learning the ropes at Eva.
And honestly?
I would've signed up on the spot.
Here's what I learned.
The "AI" Lie Everyone's Telling You
Every agency screams it now.
"AI-powered!"
"AI-driven!"
"We use AI!"
Hai (Eva's CEO, been in enterprise tech for 25+ years, ex-Oracle VP) dropped this bomb:
99% of what's called "AI" in the Amazon space is rule-based systems.
Here's what that means in plain English.
Your "AI" tool probably works like this:
If ACOS goes up 1% → reduce bid by 2%
That's not AI.
That's an if-then statement.
My daughter could write that in Scratch.
Why This Actually Matters
Real AI learns patterns. Adapts. Sees stuff humans miss.
Hai gave a perfect example:
Your competitor goes out of stock. Your sales spike. Your ACOS drops.
A rule-based system sees this and thinks: "We're crushing it! Keep going!"
But you're not crushing it.
You're just the only option on the shelf.
Real AI factors in that context.
Competitor inventory. Market share shifts. Seasonality. All of it.
That's the difference between automation and intelligence.
One follows rules. The other actually thinks.

The Keyword Trap You're Stuck In

Quick question.
Are you still using Helium 10 or Jungle Scout data to build campaigns?
No judgment. I was there.
But here's the thing.
Amazon's own data is now better than any third-party tool.
Search Query Performance. Search Term Reports. Amazon Marketing Cloud.
This is first-party data. Straight from the source.
Why use 60% accurate third-party guesses when Amazon gives you actual conversion data?
Plot twist: Most agencies still use the third-party stuff.
Because it's easier.
Not better. Easier.
But Here's Where It Gets Interesting
