Welcome to Rankster 👊

The weekly newsletter that spots viral trends and actually tells you how to profit from them.

In today’s issue, just one thing….. I have been obsessed about it for weeks….

Had to share here:

The Best Product to Launch according to TikTok Shop’s Keywords (no seller has this data….)

🔽 Let’s get started

DEEP DIVE

The Best Product to Launch

From July's TikTok Shop Keyword Data

So I've been building this TikTok Shop keyword tool for the past few months (yeah, I know, super nerdy), collecting search data, sales figures, all that good stuff (releasing it within a week….. yes, it will be free for you 👊).

Last week, I'm digging through July's fresh data dump, and I stumble across something...

There's this one ingredient that's doing $410,000+ in sales on TikTok Shop. And when I dug deeper, I realized almost nobody is paying attention to it.

The ingredient? Snail mucin.

I know, I know. It sounds disgusting. Like something you'd find on your driveway after it rains. But here's the thing...

This "Gross" Ingredient is a Goldmine

Picture this: You're scrolling TikTok, and some girl is literally putting snail slime on her face. Your first reaction? "Ew, gross."

Your second reaction? "...but wait, her skin looks incredible."

That's the magic of snail mucin. It's weird enough to stop the scroll, but effective enough to create believers.

And the numbers?

One brand – Jiyu Anti-Aging Snail Ampoule – pulled in $410,000 in July alone. That's with 9,460 units sold and 959 creators posting about it.

But here's what got me excited (and this is where it gets good)...

The Competition Gap is INSANE

Then I pulled the TikTok Shop keyword data for July:

  • Search volume: 10,750 people hunting for this stuff

  • Available products: Only 179 SKUs

  • Search-to-product ratio: 60.06

For context, most successful products have ratios around 15-20. This is triple that.

Translation? There are 60 people searching for every 1 product available. That's like having 60 people in line at a store with only 1 cashier.

But Wait... There's More Proof

I thought maybe this was just a TikTok thing. So I checked Amazon.

Plot twist: Amazon searches for "snail mucin" spiked to 70,000+ in the week of July 7-14.

You know what else happened that week? TikTok Shop's snail mucin sales went through the roof.

Here's what's happening: TikTok creates the desire. Amazon captures the overflow.

But what if you could be the one selling where the trend actually starts?

I started to look at the costs and profit

Let's say you launch a snail mucin serum for $24.99. Here's what happens:

  • Your cost: $3.00 per unit

  • TikTok affiliate commission: $6.25 (25%)

  • Fulfillment + fees: $3.50

  • Your profit per unit: $11.24

Sell 500 units? That's $5,620 profit on a $4,500 investment.

Here's how it works:

  1. You ship out samples to TikTok creators

  2. They post content about your product

  3. You use GMV Max to boost their best-performing videos (but here's the genius part – GMV Max only spends your ad budget if it can hit your target ROI. No ROI? No spend).

(It's like having a sales team where everyone works on commission, brings their own audience, AND you have TikTok's algorithm as your personal ad buyer)

Why This Works So Well on TikTok

Three reasons:

1. It's visually weird – Nothing stops a scroll like watching someone apply snail slime to their face

2. It has K-beauty credibility – Korean skincare is having a moment, and this stuff is legit

3. The before/after potential is insane – Creators love transformation content, and this delivers

Plus, it's not some flash-in-the-pan trend. This ingredient has been used in Korean skincare for years. TikTok just discovered it.

The Launch Strategy (Keep It Simple)

Forget complex marketing funnels. Here's the play:

Week 1-2: Get your product made, set up TikTok Shop, ship 50 samples to creators

Week 3-4: 30-40 creators start posting (you're paying 25% commission, so they're motivated)

Week 5-6: Best content converts; sales start flowing

Week 7-8: Restock and scale

No upfront creator fees. No paid ads. Just good old-fashioned affiliate marketing on the hottest platform in commerce.

Here's What I'd Do

Look, I gotta be straight with you – this is the strategy I would use based on all the data I'm seeing, but there's no guarantee it'll work.

E-commerce is weird like that. Sometimes the best data in the world still doesn't predict what actually happens when real people start buying stuff.

But here's what I know:

This is the best strategy available right now based on the numbers.

The demand is proven, the competition gap is real, and the mechanics work.

If I were launching this tomorrow, I'd:

  1. Source a premium snail mucin serum (differentiate with packaging and positioning)

  2. Price it at $24.99 (premium but accessible)

  3. Seed 50 units to TikTok creators with good engagement

  4. Set 25% commission (high enough to motivate, low enough to stay profitable)

  5. Sit back and watch the content machine work

Total investment? $4,500.

Break-even point? 400 units.

The beautiful thing about TikTok Shop? When it works, it really works. And when you're first to market in an underserved category?

Well, let's just say early birds and worms and all that.

The question isn't whether snail mucin will blow up. The data already proved that.

The question is: Will you be ready when it does?

That's it for this week 👊

But I need to ask a favour...
