So what is Smart Promotion, exactly?

It's TikTok Shop's house promotional engine that can be found under the ‘Marketing’ section of TikTok Shop Seller Centre. Here are all the details.

You enrol in one click inside Seller Center. TikTok funds the discounts, coupons, and free shipping that customers see at checkout. You pay a flat 3.5% fee on store-wide GMV, 4.5% during campaign periods.

TikTok guarantees a 5x ROI minimum

But your Shop must meet the basics:

  • Shop Performance Score 3.5+

  • Account Health Rating above 150

  • no recent violations in the last 30 days

No daily budget management. No bidding. No creative tax. The algorithm picks which products get subsidised and when.

Would Amazon fund your sales?

On Amazon, every promotion comes out of your margin.

  • Coupons? Your spend, plus $0.60 per redemption.

  • Lightning Deals? Your spend, plus a deal fee.

  • Vine reviews? Free units you donate, plus an enrollment fee.

  • Prime Day discounts, Subscribe & Save discounts, checkout coupons. All yours.

There is no version of Amazon where Amazon funds your growth.

TikTok flipped the model.

Run the maths:
