Rankster Newsletter #36: The AI Edition 🤖

Reading Time: 3 min | This Week’s Ad Spend: $425 | Readability: Grade 3 (Do we need more Graides?)

The weekly newsletter that's more thrilling than a 'Friends' cliffhanger... I side with Ross….

In this edition:

  • 🥊 More Hooks than the UFC.... Our last 40 TikTok ad campaigns

  • 🥇 The First Amazon Marketing Chatbot.... Want in?

  • 🎬 TikTok's new AI Script Generator tool.... Is it worth your time?

  • 📊 37 UGC stats you need to know.... ‘Cos content is the new SEO

🥊 More Hooks than the UFC

Our last 40 TikTok ad campaigns

How many case stufdies are there based on TikTok Ads for Amazon sellers?

NONE 🤬

So I decided to take our last 40 TikTok Ad campaigns and analyse the data.

Here is a quick breakdown:

  • The campaigns were TikTok Ads that direct users to the Amzon product page

  • 20 Amazon brands were used, all different niches (toys, pets, supplements, skincare, etc)

  • Data:

    • Total spend: $5,290

    • Average CPM (cost per 1000 views): $4.40

    • Average CPC (cost per click): $0.38

    • Average CTR (click through rate): 1.52%

But to be honest….

This data can be misleading….. ‘cos I want to know what ads performed the best.

As in, what are the best practices for Amazon products on TikTok?

What separated the best ads form the worst?

Answer: The Hooks

The hook is the opening 3 seconds of the TikTok video…. what hook was used to grab their attention (hooks are kinda like email subject lines…. the more ‘clickbaity’ the hook is, the better the video will perform).

Each video had a different hook (40 different hooks in total)….

So what hooks performed the best?

  • Personal Stories/experiences - anything that is relatable:

    • “How I increased my bench press to over 300 lbs”

    • “Why go to the coffee shop when you got this?”

    • “Get ready to receive compliments when you wear this”

  • What solution does it provide?

    • “The Holy Grail of Hairloss”

    • “The one trick for the best morning”

    • “I went from this bed head mess to these gorgeous locks”

    • “There is nothing more discouraging than….”

Conclusion:

Stop looking at the data….. look at your ideal customers and how your product can serve them.

Your product needs to be relatable and solve problems…. Don’t be shy, talk about those solutions and why your competitor’s can’t solve those problems 😉

How you can use this?

Ask Chat GPT 👊 Have Chat GPT analyse your Amazon listing and then ask it what pain points does your product solve and how to demonstrate this in a TikTok video.

This will take you all of 30seconds to figure out…. you have no excuse 👊

🥇 The First Amazon Marketing Chatbot

Want in?

Not another person talking about chatbots 🤬

I hear you, but hear me out.

What if a chatbot could do all our outbound marketing? You point it to a platform and tell it to obtain and nurture your leads.

I replaced 80% of my team due to AI and now that same team are helping me train the chatbot.

Think about it… your own marketing chatbot that cab do whatever you wish (get leads, nurture those leads, build your email list, keep the list engaged and even some questionable tactics: Search-Find-Buy, rebates, reviews, etc).

It’s your chatbot, based on your brand and you can use it for whatever you want.

I have been building this for months and even partnered with a Chatbot dev to build it (an incredibly experienced dev and even built similar chatbots for hedge funds).

Do you want to be part of this?

I am launching the beta and when completed this chatbot will be valued at over $5,000….

You don’t want to sleep on this.

🎬 TikTok's new AI Script Generator tool

Is it worth your time?

So I admit…. I am pretty lazy.

I try to automate everything…..

Once a fellow parent accused me of being lazy (she was right).

I returned the following day with a book that my 8 year old published on Amazon (we used AI to help create it in only a few hours).

I gave the parent a copy and asked her if she is the reason why her kid is underperforming… she is a doctor and it did not go down well…. I am no longer allowed to Parent Teacher evenings…. that’s a win for me 👊

When it comes to TikTok, I built an automated script builder that I was pretty proud of….

And now TikTok goes ahead and built their own….

Let’s put it to the test:

  • The Script Builder can be found on the TikTok Creative Centre

  • I copied the bullet points from this listing

  • I used a fictional name and product: BabiGro Baby Blanket

It gives you 3 variations, here is the first:

Part 1: Hook [Scene 1] [On-screen visual] A close-up shot of a newborn baby wrapped in a soft and warm blanket, looking content. [Voice-over] Every baby deserves a cozy and comfy blanket to snuggle in. [Text-overlay] Keep your baby snug and warm with BabiGro Baby Blankets. Part 2: Scene

[Scene 2] [On-screen visual] A mother picks up a BabiGro Baby Blanket from a neatly arranged stack. [Voice-over] BabiGro Baby Blankets are made from 100% polyester material, ensuring that your baby stays warm and comfortable all year round. [Text-overlay] Perfect for all seasons and occasions.

[Scene 3] [On-screen visual] A father and mother take their baby on a stroll in a stroller, using the BabiGro Baby Blanket to keep their baby warm. [Voice-over] The 30''X40'' size makes it portable and versatile, perfect for outdoor strolls, car rides, and even office naps. [Text-overlay] The perfect companion for your baby's journey. Part 3: Call to Action

[Scene 4] [On-screen visual] A group of friends are gathered for a baby shower, presenting the new mom with a pack of BabiGro Baby Blankets. [Voice-over] These blankets also make for great gifts for newborn babies, toddlers, and even pets. [Text-overlay] Give the gift of coziness and comfort to the new parents in your life.

This took all of 30 seconds…..

My thoughts:

It’s great but purely as a starting point… using my Brief Builder along with the TikTok Script Builder is a killer combo

Use them side by side for the best results!

It will only take you 2 minutes… edit and send to a bunch of creators
