TikTok just launched GMV MAX ads.

We had BETA access and the results are not bad:

Product GMV Max will automatically:

  • Create and pause ads based on your top-performing products and ad creatives

  • Show ads where people are most likely to see and engage with them

  • Choose ad placements and formats likely to encourage people to buy your products

  • Adjust campaign spending to get the most value for your ads and products

Why it’s great 🚀 :

  • It uses TikTok’s AI to optimise your ad campaign

  • Media Buyers should be worried….. they just go replaced

  • Better results with fewer headaches

Why it’s terrible 🤬 :

  • These new ads do not tell you which videos performed the best.

  • If you want to scale your best content….. you don’t know what it is as the ads do not inform you

Overall, this makes your Ads much easier….. but do you trust AI? ‘Cos it is now running all your ads…..

I think a ‘hybrid’ approach is optimal.

Is the supposed TikTok ban slowing TikTok down?

TikTok is gearing up to launch its in-app shopping tools in Spain and Ireland, aiming to boost its in-stream shopping capabilities and drive more revenue.

After a less-than-successful attempt in 2022 due to internal issues and lukewarm consumer interest. With 15 million sellers on the app and significant growth in the U.K., TikTok sees potential in streamlining its processes and expanding its market share in Europe.

However, TikTok’s growth in the West is still modest compared to its Chinese counterpart, Douyin, which generated over $300 billion in sales in 2023, while TikTok reached $3.8 billion.

TikTok has some big plans… could it be the next ‘Amazon’?

I doubt it….. but if it makes Amazon nervous, that’s a win for us.
